Rationale for Changes

I had feedback from co-workers on various aspects of my questions and altered them accordingly. Although I did not mean for this to be a comprehensive survey (only a sample of some possible questions) a couple comments pertained to covering more of a certain topic and I did oblige by creating a couple additional questions. In fact, some of the questions are quite similar but part of my exercise was discovering the best way to make the statement to get at the type of response I was interested in.

Rating Scaled Questions

I changed the wording on several of these statements to try and clearly articulate that I am trying to assess that the changes being referred to were a result of TIPS. In addition, I decided to try and make them as consistent as possible. I added #2 as it was suggested that it would be good to differentiate among various types of teaching encounters, both informal and formal. I changed # 6 specifically as it was the one question that focused more on the person and her role as opposed to skills/knowledge. I followed a few additional tips to cut down wordiness and make the statements more precise and consistent. I decided that it might be a good idea to italicize the important distinguishing words in each statement to make it clear what is exactly being referred to. I would like feedback on whether or not this is a good idea.

Short Answer

I added question #2 due to a request to ask about what the residents might actually do differently in addition to how they prepare. I added the second part to #3 (now #4) to get a more full and useful response from residents. I added the final question to address the issue of program improvement. I also added italics here for the same reason as stated above.
